Telescopes
There are three basic types of telescopes - Refractors, Newtonian s and Catadioptrics.
Refractors
The refractor is the oldest telescope design. In its simple form, as Galileo used it 400 years ago, it is simply a curved lens which focuses light to a point. Introduced by using a single lens can be largely eliminated by using a design joining two or more lens elements. This is the design used in modern refractors.
Newtonian Refractor
The Newtonian telescope is a type of reflecting telescope invented by the British scientist Sir Isaac Newton, using a concave primary mirror and a flat diagonal secondary mirror. The Newtonian telescope's simple design makes them very popular and easy to use for beginners.

Catadioptric telescopes
Catadioptric Telescopes make use of both reflection and refraction techniques to produce images. They’re usually used in telephoto and microscope instruments.
